Opening Minds offers a range of courses for teens and young adults from day courses to longer residential retreats.

In 2019 we will be offering 3 hour workshops to equip teenagers and young adults with foundations of mindfulness. More details about this to come.

Bodhi seeds is a six week course that has been running for the past 3 years at the Wangapeka Study and Retreat centre. Bodhi Seeds provides the space young adults to experience living in community, and to craft a deep practice of meditation and mindfulness. Woven into this are explorations of ritual, rites of passage, dance, art, and a number of short courses run by external teachers who come to the centre.

Bodhi Seeds is developing into a space for young leaders to craft their skills of facilitation, and offer their gifts to the world. Over the next 3 years we will be offering 3-month international courses beginning in Brazil. More information to come.

The 'Young Adult's Retreat'

Opening minds has worked in collaboration with other teachers at the Wangapeka to develop a one week contemplative retreat for young adults (18-35).

The course works with a particular exploration each year and provides the opportunity for participants to enter into a space of deep contemplation and support.

the Young Adults Retreat is now in its 6th year, and a number of regular participants are beginning to step into facilitating roles, so that young people are crafting the space for young people.

Rites Of Passage

Opening minds works closely with the Tracks foundation to deliver Rites of passage programmes for young boys transitioning into adulthood.
